What is Team Fate?
Team Fate is an advanced Hybrid Vehicle research group at the University of California at Davis. Each year, the group converts a stock automobile into a fuel efficient hybrid electric vehicle while enhancing the level of comfort and driveability that consumers demand.
Challenge X: Crossover to Sustainable Mobility
Challenge X is a three-year competition hosted by the General Motors Corporation (GM), the U.S. Department of Energy, and other government and industry leaders for engineering schools to participate in hands-on R&D with leading-edge automotive propulsion, fuels, materials, and emissions-control technologies.
UC Davis is one of the seventeen teams who will re-engineer a GM crossover sport utility vehicle to minimize energy consumption, emissions, and greenhouse gases while maintaining or exceeding the vehicle’s utility and performance. The UC Davis Challenge X Team, “Team Fate” is a student run team with supporting staff (Rob Kamisky) and two faculty advisors; Dr. Andrew Frank, and Dr. Paul Erickson. The Team is supported by the College of Engineering, the Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering Department, the Institute of Transportation Studies at UC Davis, and the UC Davis Office of Research.
This site is designed to help and inform people about the challange of running, building and making fuel efficent cars.
We will be working madly to get this new website up and all the great info back on it.
